Baader Planetarium 1.25" IR Pass (685 nm) Filter

Baader Planetarium's 1.25" IR-Pass filter blocks wavelengths below 670 nm for increased contrast and image sharpness. By combining a luminance image taken with the IR-Pass filter, along with RGB frames, overall image sharpness is significantly enhanced. Some of the world's best amateur planetary images have been taken with this technique.
The IR-Pass filter shares the same outstanding features as all the other Baader filters. High optical quality, Striae-free substrate and high-efficiency multi-coatings result in the sharpest and highest contrast image possible.

Andrew M. ★★★★★

The sharpness difference on Jupiter was immediately obvious after screwing this filter in—it cuts through urban skyglow and really firms up the planetary detail. Even with my 6-inch scope, the contrast boost on Mars was noticeable without washing out the fainter surface features.

Aurora Y. ★★★★★

I’ve been using this filter on my 8-inch SCT for lunar observation, and the sharpness improvement on the terminator is immediately obvious compared to no filter. The 685nm cutoff really cleans up atmospheric blurring on nights with average seeing.

Robert ★★★★☆

The IR filter sharpened my lunar images noticeably, and it threaded onto my eyepiece without any cross-threading issues. The contrast improvement was subtle but real, especially on high-power targets.
