Meade 130 mm Series 6000 ED APO Triplet Refractor

With the Series 6000 Apochromatic Refractors Meade has designed some of the best refractors on the market today. Every refractor is independently produced and tested to guarantee they meet Meade's highest standards in terms of both optics and mechanics.

These scopes were made with regards to the observer as well as the imager. With an optical design consisting of three elements that employ the highest grade extra-low dispersion (ED) optical glass, false color is all but eradicated for incredible color correction, sharpness, and contrast.

Meade's proprietary 2.5" dual-speed Rack & Pinion focuser is a new addition to the Series 6000 Triplet APO package. This focuser incorporates a 10:1 fine focus knob to enable precise focusing. To assist with attaining accurate focusing, the 2.5" dual-speed Rack & Pinion focuser contains millimeter markings on the drawtube. It is also rotatable to allow your target object to be easily framed. Recently added for this focuser is the 2" self-center locking ring for centering diagonals or cameras to the optical train each time the locking ring is engaged.

Standard equipment also includes a fully extendable dew shield, mounting rings, a Vixen-style dovetail, and an aluminum hard carry case to protect your investment when not in use.

The Series 6000 Apochromatic Refractor will fulfill the needs of the most discerning astronomers. True triple element Apochromatic (APO) refractors are unbeatable for sharp wide-field observing and imaging. For any price, Meade Series 6000 ED APO Triplets are among the best on the market.

The focus knob is silky smooth and precise, making fine adjustments a breeze. I spent hours last night on Jupiter and its bands were razor-sharp—this triplet really delivers on its ED glass promise.

The focus ring is incredibly smooth, making fine-tuning a breeze even in cold weather. I was able to resolve Jupiter's cloud bands clearly on my first night out, and the sharpness across the entire field of view is impressive.
