Sky-Watcher SynScan Flextube GoTo Collapsible Dobsonian 10 Inch - S11810

It’s one of the most important questions you’ll ask yourself while shopping for a new telescope: manual or computerized? But with Sky-Watcher’s GoTo Flextube 10” Dobsonian, you can have both! You simply won’t find a more versatile telescope for the price.

The best of both worlds

Sky-Watcher’s innovative SynScan computerized hand control is the brain behind your Sky-Watcher GoTo Dobsonian. With an internal database of more than 42,000 celestial objects, this easy-to-use hand control can locate any object you see in the night sky with push-button ease. Or, let your Sky-Watcher GoTo Dob take you on a tour of all the best objects based on your time and location. To get started, just perform a simple alignment procedure.

Dobsonians are always a hit at star parties. From first-time stargazers to junior astronauts-in-training, you’re bound to attract attention with this telescope. That’s when you’ll really appreciate having GoTo tracking capabilities. Once the telescope has locked in on its target, it continues to track with spot-on accuracy as the object drifts across the night sky. Everyone can enjoy a stunning view—without the need for you to constantly reposition the telescope.

Best of all, you can switch back and forth between manual and computerized modes in a single night! Sky-Watchers dual axis encoders allow you to swing the telescope on its rocker box mount without disturbing the alignment. Slewing to objects manually is smooth and easy thanks to the adjustable Tension Control Handle, Sky-Watcher’s patented design. Grab a quick view of the Moon or any other object at any point during your observations.

Innovative collapsible truss tube

Even in the smaller apertures, a Dobsonian’s large optical tube can quickly become cumbersome in the field. Sky-Watcher has solved this problem with their patented truss tube design. Simply loosen a few knobs and condense the tube to half its length. When it’s time to observe, the tube pops back up as easily as you lowered it—no need to attach truss supports individually. So get ready to grab and go; you can take this Dobsonian anywhere!
