Tele Vue 7mm Nagler Type 6 Eyepiece

If you liked Tele Vue's original Nagler design, you will love the new and improved Nagler Type 6 eyepieces! These 7-element eyepieces feature exotic glass, have 1.25" barrels and sport a comfortable 12mm of eye relief.  Besides their superb optics and lovely 82-degree apparent field of view, the Type 6 Nagler's are parfocal, and all weigh about the same—about a half pound—making it easy and fast to change eyepieces when you want to raise or lower magnification.

Regardless of the Type, Tele Vue Nagler eyepieces are a runaway favorite with amateur astronomers all over the world. With their eye-opening field of view, great eye relief, and amazingly sharp optics, it is no wonder that Al Nagler's "Space Walk" eyepieces are some of the most coveted telescope accessories of all time.

To see the relative size difference between a 50 degree and an 82-degree eyepiece, lay a penny and a half dollar down on the table side by side. The difference is huge—the half dollar has almost three times the area of the penny! Al Nagler wanted to give his customers an experience that would be similar to looking at an object with the naked eye—except with lots more magnification!— and the 82 degrees Nagler’s definitely hit the mark. After a while, you will forget that you’re looking through an eyepiece at all, and you’ll feel fully immersed in the experience.

All Nagler eyepieces have blackened lens edges, anti-reflection threads and rubber eye guards for maximum contrast. A 100% full field visual inspection on Tele Vue’s flat-field test instruments guarantees the performance of every Nagler eyepiece.

Type 6 Nagler Eyepieces

Tele Vue Nagler Type 6 Eyepieces are designed with all of the features savvy amateur astronomers have come to expect over the years, including that “Space Walk”82-degree apparent field of view and quality optics that reveal super sharp, high contrast images. Starting at a very short 2.5mm focal length, the Type 6 Nagler eyepieces are great for high magnification planetary and lunar views on a variety of instruments and work great with today's popular short focal length refractors.

All Type 6 Nagler eyepieces have a comfortable 12mm of eye relief.  They are also parfocal, which means you can switch between focal lengths with little or no changes in focus.

These quality Tele Vue eyepieces are also Dioptrx compatible when used with the optional DNA-6000 adapter, allowing you to correct for near- or far-sightedness with the unique Dioptrx diopter system.

John K. ★★★★★

Swapped out my old 6mm for this 7mm and the extra eye relief makes a huge difference for eyeglass wearers like me. The 82-degree field is incredibly immersive on my Dobsonian, and the sharpness holds right to the edge.

Hannah W. ★★★★★

Was blown away by how sharp the views are across the entire field, even with my f/6 scope. The 82-degree apparent field feels immersive, and the 7mm focal length really pulls in fine detail on Jupiter.

Penelope C. ★★★★★

The eye relief is generous enough to use with glasses, which was a pleasant surprise at this focal length. Jupiter's cloud bands snapped into sharp focus with incredible contrast right out of the box.
