TeleGizmos Cover for 16" SCT Telescopes

This Solar Cover from TeleGizmos is intended for 16" SCT Telescopes and features multi-layer, polyethylene material, and a thoroughly aluminized surface. This material was first constructed for NASA as an insulator in spacecraft with strength equal to a multi-layer tarp. It is very strong, light, tear and puncture resistant, has double lap sewn seams for strength, and can be securely fastened to your telescope with a built-in drawstring.

The heat reflective ability of this TeleGizmos Solar Cover is extremely high, greatly reducing scope temperature on telescopes left outside in sunlight. True & effective radiant barrier protection. It is highly water-resistant without the need of spray on sealers. Also stops condensation build-up on scopes left outside at night. The material has extreme temperature tolerance; they stay malleable in temps well below freezing and are unaffected by summer sun and heat.

Please Note: The photo shown is for a 12" SCT. The cover you will receive is a bit larger and is made to fit 16" SCT Telescopes.

The aluminized coating on this cover really helps during solar imaging; I noticed a significant reduction in stray light compared to my old setup. It slipped onto my 16" SCT without much fuss and feels durable enough for regular outdoor use.

The multi-layer polyethylene feels tough enough to shrug off UV all summer, and the aluminized inside actually kept the tube cool to the touch when I uncovered it. I've left it on for two weeks straight with no sagging or moisture buildup underneath, which is more than I can say for my old tarp setu

After hauling my 16" SCT out in the rain last week, I was relieved to find the multi-layer polyethylene material kept everything bone dry underneath. The aluminized layer seems to reflect heat well too, which is a bonus for summer sessions.
