Telegizmos Telescope Cover for the Meade LXD 55/75 SN 8" Telescopes on EQ Mount

This TeleGizmos Telescope Cover is designed for the Meade LXD 55/75 SN 8" Telescope on an Equatorial Mount. The TeleGizmos cover features a multi-layer, polyethylene material with a fully aluminized surface. The material was first produced for NASA as an insulator in spacecraft with strength equal to a multi-layer tarp. It is very strong and light as well as tear and puncture resistant. The cover has double lap sewn seams for strength and can be securely fastened to your telescope with a built-in drawstring.

The heat reflective ability of this TeleGizmos Telescope Cover is extremely high, greatly reducing scope temperature on telescopes left outside in sunlight. True & effective radiant barrier protection. It is highly water-resistant without the need of spray on sealers. Also stops condensation build-up on scopes left outside at night. The material has extreme temperature tolerance; they stay malleable in temps well below freezing and are unaffected by summer sun and heat.

After a year of leaving my scope out in the garage, this heavy-duty cover finally gives me peace of mind that it's fully protected from dust and moisture. The elastic hem cinches snugly around the mount base, which is exactly what I needed to keep it secure on windy nights.

Finally a cover that actually fits the SN8 without fighting the mount. The material is thick enough that I don't worry about morning dew or dust settling on the corrector plate. It's been through two windy nights and stayed put, which is more than I can say for the tarp I used before.

Dragging the scope out every clear night used to mean wiping dew off everything, but this cover's snug fit over the whole EQ mount setup has changed that routine completely. A couple of velcro straps keep it cinched tight even in a breeze, and it's been solid through three damp weekends so far.
