ZWO 1.25" OIII 7 nm Filter

The ZWO OIII 7nm Filter is mounted in a metal 1.25" cell and comes in a protective plastic case. ZWO narrowband filters are fine-optically polished to reach an accuracy of 1/4 wave. Their performance is further enhanced by multiple layers of anti-reflection coatings.

OIII, or doubly ionized oxygen, emits light in the blue/green, or the teal portion of the spectrum near 500 nm. Planetary nebulae and supernova remnants emit most of their light in the OIII line. OIII is considered the second most popular narrowband imaging filter (behind H-a), and when used in conjunction with H-a and SII, your images will get that tri-color "Hubble Look".

Samuel ★★★★★

I was impressed by how cleanly the OIII filter separates the nebula signal from all the light pollution around my backyard. The 7nm bandwidth really cuts through, and the fine optical polish seems to make a difference in star sharpness.

Amelia V. ★★★★★

The metal cell feels solid and protective, and the 7nm bandwidth cuts through city glow noticeably better than my old 12nm did. It's already paid for itself on two faint planetary nebulae I could barely see before.

Claire ★★★★★

The 7nm bandwidth really made the Bubble Nebula pop in my scope—way more contrast than my old cheap filter. It threaded smoothly into my filter wheel without any cross-threading issues.
