ZWO 36mm OIII 7 nm Filter

ZWO's 36mm doubly ionized oxygen (OIII) filter, is one of the most popular narrowband imaging filters. In fact, when used with an H-Alpha and SII filter, your images will have enhanced coloring like images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Planetary nebulae and supernova remnants emit most of their light in the OIII line, which is light in the blue/green, or teal portion of the spectrum near 500 nm.

The ZWO OIII 7nm 36mm Filter is unmounted. ZWO narrowband filters are fine-optically polished to reach an accuracy of 1/4 wave. Their performance is further enhanced by multiple layers of anti-reflection coatings.

Joseph Y. ★★★★★

Finally switched to this 36mm OIII and the difference in contrast is obvious — the 7nm passband cuts the sky glow so much that even from my bortle 6 backyard I’m pulling out the faintest wisps in the Veil. Threads onto my filter wheel without any play, and paired with my H-alpha and SII frames, the

Ellie ★★★★★

The 7nm bandwidth really isolates the OIII signal; on the Veil Nebula, the contrast against the background sky was stunning. I was able to get crisp detail in the central star with just 3-minute subs. This filter does exactly what I needed for my mono camera setup.

Christopher C. ★★★★★

First light with this on the Dumbbell Nebula and the planetary detail just jumped out compared to my old broadband shots. Threads screwed cleanly into my 36mm filter wheel without any wobble. Pairing it with my H-Alpha data gave me the teal I'd been chasing for months.
